In my oral
presentation about my journal I talked about three images and what they
represent to me. The first image that I choose represents to me peace.
Represent peace because is quite place. Is winter resort where all the people
go with their family to ski and have a good time. I personally went with my
family a couple of years ago and in my opinion it was a unique experience. My
favorite part of the resort was an outdoor pool that they have in the middle of
the mountains. I had never seen such a thing. Therefore, I got in into the pool
and because the temperature was in the negative obviously the pool had a
heater. The worst part of all was when I got out of the pool. To be honest I
was freezing but immediately I went to a shower that they had to warm myself a
little bit.
The second image that
I choose was the one about the Iguazu Falls. The Iguazu Falls are waterfalls of
the Iguazu River on the border of Brazilian state Paraná and Argentine province
Misiones and it also forms the boundary between Argentina and Brazil. This is
one of the most amazing things that I ever seen. When I went with my family we
took a boat that passes near the waterfalls. I admitted that I got a little bit
nervous because once you have the waterfalls in front of you get a little bit
preoccupied. But despite that, I have to stay that it was an unforgettable and
adventurous experience.
Finally the third
image that I choose was the one that I was at the beach with my best friend.
That photo for me represents happiness. For me the happiest things are to be
with my family and friends, I love to be with them. No matter what, whenever I
am with my family and friends I have a good time. But about the image, what I like
the most is that we were at the beach. To be honest, I love the beach. The
beach for me is the best place ever, is a relaxing place. Therefore, being
their with my best fried represent joy.
In
my opinion, this class has helped me in many ways. The first one is my writing.
I think that my writing has improved a lot. At the beginning of the semester I
was capable to write half a page in the free writings that we had in class. But
as the time passes I wrote two pages or a little bit more. I have to admit that
also at the beginning of the semester for me it was a little bit difficult to
keep writing without non-stopping. That was the most difficult part for me
because I hadn’t an idea in my mind of what to write. Now a day I’m capable to
write without stopping because as my mom says: “Practice makes perfection”.
Another thing that I have learned through this class is how to communicate with
the people and how to lose that fear to be in front of a classroom and talk to
them. In my opinion this is the most grateful thing that I have to be of the
class. I also in this class learned the difference between a tourist and a
traveler. At the beginning I thought that both of them were the same. But as
the time passes I realized that they have a different meaning. For me a tourist
is a person that goes to a place for pleasure and to have fun; but a traveler
is a person that wants to learn more about the historical and cultural aspects
of the place that is visiting. In my opinion, we all have to be travelers once
in our lives because it is also important to learn and know about other places,
it cannot be all just beauty. Finally I have to mention that most of my
journeys that are on my journal are internal, not external. Practically what I
wrote in there was I how felt and all the problems that I can have in a day and
I have to overcome it. Therefore, this journal helped me to learn more about
myself.
